Round Vinyl Sticker - D and C 53:2
The Scripture
Doctrine and Covenants 53:2: “Behold, I, the Lord, who was crucified for the sins of the world, give unto you a commandment that you shall forsake the world.”
Why It Matters
To forsake the world is to turn away from its values, its priorities, and its pull on our hearts—not to abandon people, but to stop letting the world set the terms of our lives. This commandment was given to Sidney Gilbert as he prepared for a life of consecrated service, and it applies to every disciple: we are in the world, but we are not to be of it.
